color challenge wednesday #5

This week’s post challenges you to try using a combination of light green, dark green and purple (A|S: lichen, fern, amethyst & heather) in your stamping projects…

I started with a light green base card and set aside. I cut a white panel and randomly stamped flowers and leaves from the Marvelous Marigolds stamps set. I used amethyst ink for the solid flower, latte ink for the outline flower image and lichen ink for the leaves. This combination set the stage for the grand embellishment—a beautiful heather butterfly arranged on a heather satin ribbon and tied across the panel. To create this embellishment I cut out the largest butterfly from the Butterfly Trio die set. I attached 4 sparkle stickers to the center of the butterfly to create a “body”. I tied the satin ribbon around the panel, securing the ends on the back with adhesive. I then took a small piece of twine and tied a knot in the middle of the ribbon on the front of the panel. This lifts and gathers the ribbon a bit and gives it some texture. The last step of the embellishment is to secure the butterfly to the knot with a glue dot.

This is a great card for a feminine birthday, get well or even a bridal shower… enjoy trying this color combination in your own stamping this week!
