color challenge wednesday no. 30

Color Challenge Wednesday No. 30 – A Muse Studio—Mermaid, Sage & Apricot…

CCW0219_1

Such a fresh, happy color scheme…pulls you right out of the winter doldrums with the colors of grass, sky and sunshine!

For this card I chose a base card in Mermaid with a surface panel in Sage. I stamped some flower images from the Beautiful Botanicals 2 stamp set in both Sage and Mermaid inks on a sugar panel and then the sentiment was stamped on a strip of Apricot card stock in black ink. The sentiment comes from the Love Machines stamp set. You’ve probably noticed this one a lot lately… I like the clean font style and I’ve been using it on lots of cards!

The crowning touches are a bit of twine tied in a bow and a dash of glitter on the stamped images using my Quickie Glue Pen and some prisma glitter. The glitter really creates a WOW factor on this one and its such an easy way to bring any card design up a notch. I hope you’ve enjoyed a bit of color inspiration—give this combo a try!

Until next time…

Kris

clean and simple sunday no. 71

So we are still trying to build up that stash of birthday cards this month and with that I bring you today’s clean & simple sunday card…

This design features images from the A|S Charming Gardeners stamp set, both leaf and flower. The sentiment comes from a brand new stamp set called You’re Too Kind, which is also being featured in a post later this week, so more to come on that one and a sneak peek you won’t want to miss!

The colors used in today’s card include cherry card stock, ink and ribbon as well as sage ink for the flower stems. I also used my Quickie Glue Pen and some glitter to dazzle up the flowers a bit and add some sparkle to the card.

Lots of white space on this card with just a pop of color, keeping true to the clean & simple design.

clean & simple sunday #34

The card I made for this week’s clean and simple design pairs paper flowers and polka dots…

This sweet birthday card was so easy to put together… I layered together two flowers, added some little felt leaves that I cut by hand and a sparkle for the center of the flower.  The base card and polka dot strip are both A|S Bermuda and the little white scallop really finishes off the feminine design.

clean & simple sunday #11

The simple technique of random stamping one or more images in a pattern is a great way to create a clean and simple card design. Its like creating your own patterned paper!  In this example below, I chose two flowers of different sizes and shapes and stamped them on the white card stock, leaving a bit of blank space in the upper right corner—a place to stamp the sentiment and a place for the eye to rest…

All products for this card are A Muse Studio…stamp sets include flowers from “Graphic Sunflower” and “Clever Girls”, and a sentiment from “Contemporary Greetings”.  The colors used are also A|S—ocean blue and lime green.  To embellish, I used the tiniest pearls from pearl strip to center each of the lime flowers. The ribbon is ocean stitched grosgrain.  The image and color combinations are seemingly endless…pick your favorite images and colors and give it a try!!
