A|S Spring Patterned Paper – Card #2

Today I have another card to showcase some of that beautiful patterned paper from the New A|S Spring Accessories Guide. For this particular card, I chose one of the more neutral colored papers and used it to cover my card front. I stamped my sentiment (from the Love Machines stamp set) onto a strip of sugar and used the tiny scalloped border to cut the edge. I glued that directly to my card base.

The yellow flower was cut with our Flowers 1 die set, the smallest and largest flower cut out of A|S felt. Cutting the flower from felt instead of more card stock adds a unique embellishment to the card with the softness and dimension. I tied some twine to an A|S button and glued that to the center of the flower before adhering it to the card base.

The finishing touch was to add a few of those pearl sequins to the card to add a little bit of sparkle.

I have one more card to share that showcases a fun way to use the patterned papers–you won’t want to miss this one! I’ll see you back here on Friday with the last card in this little series!

CAS-ual Friday Blog Challenge: Glitter

Today I am participating in a Clean & Simple Challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday Clean & Simple Challenge Blog…

This blog caters to CLEAN & SIMPLE design which is near and dear to my heart. The design challenge for this week is to use GLITTER.

This card features the flowers 1 die set from A Muse|Studio. I started with a sky base card and applied a dry embossed dot background panel. I then cut the medium size flower out of pumpkin card stock. I pressed the die cut flower into my Versamark ink pad so the surface was nice and moist with ink… I then applied Simple Stick powder (also from A Muse|Studio) and melted the powder on the surface of my die cut flower using my heating tool. I then applied a nice, thick coating of orange glitter! I glued on a couple of leaves with my tape adhesive, added a threaded yellow button with a glue dot and attached the flower to the dot embossed panel using a foam square to pop it off the surface a bit. The sentiment is from the A|S stamp set Friend to Friend.  I stamped it on a strip of papaya pinstripe card stock using Memento tuxedo black ink.

A new challenge will be posted on Friday, come play along!
