clean and simple sunday no. 137 ~ jingle all the way

I’m very happy to be back today for another clean and simple Sunday, sharing a card I made using the last Monthly Collection from A Muse Studio, the November Collection

This card was made using a sentiment and two of the snowflakes out of the Jingle All the Way stamp set. I used seattle and winter sky ink for the snowflakes and cherry ink for the sentiment.

I used a bit of the cherry baker’s twine and a few clear, white and star sequins to embellish. I think every snowflake card needs a little sparkle!

Every year around this time I start talking about handmade Christmas cards and what joyful tradition this has become over the years in my own holiday prep. I think it’s because I’m hand-making each card individually and it feels like with each card I send out, I’m sending a little handmade gift. Handmade gifts are my favorite–both to give and receive. I will be making some of my gifts this Christmas and can’t wait to share them with you here.

This is a very simple card design and uses minimal supplies so it fits perfectly in the “easy to mass produce” category. I hope you will consider making some of your Christmas cards this year!

You can order all of the supplies to make this card in my little shop right HERE, through November 26th. After November 27th, sadly, A Muse Studio will be closed for business. If you have questions about what you’d need to make any number of these cards, please leave me a comment, I’m happy to help!

2014 Holiday Card Series – Bottle Brush Forest 2

Card #3  |  Today I have another simple card to share using Bottle Brush Forest

HCS-14_BottleBrush copy
This clean & simple, one-layer card starts with a base card in sky. I then stamped a few trees in grass ink, and a deer in French roast ink. I took my quickie glue pen and drew in a little hill behind the trees which I then dusted with diamond glitter to give the “snow” some sparkle. I stamped a few snowflakes in Bermuda ink above the trees and finished it off with a sentiment from this stamp set, in cherry ink.

This is such a simple, easy, classic-style Christmas card, it could be fun to reproduce for holiday cards this year.

Thanks for the look!

clean & simple sunday no. 114

I don’t mean to rush the holidays, I really don’t, but I want to let you know that my 2014 Holiday Card Series is right around the corner! Starting this Wednesday, October 15th, for 12 days straight, I will be sharing a handmade Christmas card to get you thinking about making your own cards this year and hopefully provide some inspiration!

To kick off the anticipation, I chose Bottle Brush Forest for my card today, it’s one of the new stamp sets in the A|S Holiday Catalog for 2014…

For this card, I started with a white card base. I thought a subtle background would make this card a bit more special so I inked up the Haunted Mansion Background stamp in pebble ink and stamped the front of the card. I then stamped a few of the larger limbed trees in a row, using fern ink. The sentiment, Season’s Greetings, is included with this stamp set. I cut a small strip of cherry card stock and heat embossed the greeting with Versamark ink, white embossing powder and my Milwaukee Heat Tool, popping the sentiment strip off of the card front with 3D foam adhesive. The finishing touch was to add a few cherry sparkle stickers. Every holiday card needs a little sparkle!

This clean and simple Christmas card would be super easy to mass produce and wouldn’t require a lot of supplies. Just enough “cuteness” to put some magic in someone’s mailbox this holiday season!

I hope you’re excited about the Holiday Card Series for 2014… I have lots to share and hope you will respond with comments!  Thanks so much!

Until Wednesday…

clean and simple sunday no. 50

If you are a regular card-maker, then this time of year, despite the heat and humidity, is the time when you start thinking about Christmas cards. Most of the big stamping companies launch their Holiday Catalogs this time of year and A Muse|Studio is no exception. I’ve been working up a few designs these last several weeks and making samples as well. For today’s card I chose a really simple design using two of the die sets offered by A Muse|Studio…

This was an extremely simple card to make and it would be a great one to send out to those you may know who don’t necessarily celebrate Christmas… I took a sheet of latte cardstock and cut a small base card—5 x 7″, folding along the 7″ side creating a final base card that measures 5″ x 3.5″.  This is the smallest card size allowable in the US Mail and fits in a 4bar envelope.  I typed out a sentiment on white cardstock using the ROCKWELL font that came with my computer. You could very easily stamp a sentiment instead… I cut out the sentiment using one of the Label 8 Nestabilities dies and trimmed off one edge. I also cut a medium size snowflake in winter sky using the snowflake trio die set. I glued it all together and added a few sparkle stickers to match the sentiment. Clean, simple and very easy to mass produce…

I have a lot more ideas for CAS Christmas cards that I will be sharing in the coming weeks… for a little instant inspiration check out the cards I added a few weeks ago to the Card Gallery tab at the top of this post!
