clean & simple sunday no. 127

Hello everyone! Back today with a clean, fresh design using the Love & Thanks stamp set and dies…

The flowers and leaves in this set are so sweet and whimsical! They look amazing in many different color combinations. I chose a base card of SHELL and ink colors of SAGE and BERRY to create this housewarming card. The circle dot image and the Home Sweet Home were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold. I love how the doily adds some extra daintiness to the design.

I’ll be back next Sunday with some holiday designs–both Halloween and Christmas!  Until then…

Clean & Simple Sunday No. 125 | C’est La Vie

Listening to the “Smooth Jazz Brunch” on my local radio station this morning to bring you another clean and simple card using a sweet stamp set from our new annual catalog… C’est La Vie:

This set is a new favorite of mine, though it’s been in the annual catalog for a couple of years now. I love the sketchy cityscape image paired with several swirly/romantic font greetings. Personal StationeryI find that with this particular stamp set it’s very easy to create several cute cards for many different occasions using just this one stamp set—a nice, easy way to stretch your stamping dollars!

In the card I created above, I also used a small strip of one of the rose patterned papers from the Everything’s Rosy 6×6 paper packet. The papers in that packet are very bold so I try to only use them in small quantity on a card design to help add interest or color, or both, in the case of the card above. This also stretches my budget because the paper lasts a long time, using it in small amounts.

I hope this card inspires you to do a little stamping this weekend…

Until next time!

I don’t mean to rush the holidays, I really don’t, but I want to let you know that my 2014 Holiday Card Series is right around the corner! Starting this Wednesday, October 15th, for 12 days straight, I will be sharing a handmade Christmas card to get you thinking about making your own cards this year and hopefully provide some inspiration!

To kick off the anticipation, I chose Bottle Brush Forest for my card today, it’s one of the new stamp sets in the A|S Holiday Catalog for 2014…

For this card, I started with a white card base. I thought a subtle background would make this card a bit more special so I inked up the Haunted Mansion Background stamp in pebble ink and stamped the front of the card. I then stamped a few of the larger limbed trees in a row, using fern ink. The sentiment, Season’s Greetings, is included with this stamp set. I cut a small strip of cherry card stock and heat embossed the greeting with Versamark ink, white embossing powder and my Milwaukee Heat Tool, popping the sentiment strip off of the card front with 3D foam adhesive. The finishing touch was to add a few cherry sparkle stickers. Every holiday card needs a little sparkle!

This clean and simple Christmas card would be super easy to mass produce and wouldn’t require a lot of supplies. Just enough “cuteness” to put some magic in someone’s mailbox this holiday season!

I hope you’re excited about the Holiday Card Series for 2014… I have lots to share and hope you will respond with comments!  Thanks so much!

Until Wednesday…

I’ve been spending some time in my studio making Valentines, so I thought I’d share one in a clean & simple design using the A Muse Studio Heart Trio die set…

CSS1 copy

This card features the medium-size heart in the trio. I started with a card base in sugar and cut 5 medium hearts—2 in sugar, 1 in shell, 1 in grapefruit and 1 in cherry card stock. I added them to the card front using a bit of foam adhesive to pop each of them off the card front. The sentiment is from the Say it with Style stamp set and I stamped it on a strip of sugar card stock that I cut into a little fish tail pennant.

This finishing touch is the little sparkle sticker I added to the grapefruit heart where I also attached the sentiment flag. I also used my Corner Chomper tool to curve the top corner of the card. This really finishes it off and gives the card a nice, contemporary flair.
