clean & simple sunday no. 106

A little late with my post this week but better late than never, right!?

This week I have big news!! A Muse Studio is holding an Every Day is a Holiday Sale!!  That means 40% OFF select stamp sets during the month of August, while supplies last. I’ve attached a flyer to this post right HERE so you can have a closer look at this fabulous sale—don’t miss out on any of these must have stamp sets—get ’em before they’re gone!

One of the sets featured in the sale offerings is the Hark! set from last year’s holiday catalog… I really love this clean and simple angel stamp set and the sentiments are lovely too so the clean & simple design for this week features a card design using an image and sentiment from this very set!

DSC_0317 copyI stamped an angel in Versamark ink and did some gold heat embossing on a winter sky card base. The sentiment is stamped in cherry ink on a white panel and I added a wrap of cherry and white baker’s cording to embellish.

I’m going to have a few more ideas this month, using stamp sets featured as part of this terrific sale! I hope you’ll check back soon or subscribe in the right margin of my blog… it’s completely free and you’ll never miss a post!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Until next time…  Kris V.

clean and simple sunday no. 105

This week I cracked open a brand new stamp set that I’ve been excited to try using—Sealed with a Fish!
Such cute, whimsical sea life in this generous stamp set, I knew I had to have it when I looked through the new A Muse Studio catalog for the first time…

This card starts with a base card in bermuda. The stamped panel is actually a piece of our Bristol watercolor paper. Watercolor paper handles watercoloring techniques beautifully because it is made to handle the water involved, and it dries pretty flat.

I took a small, square acrylic block and colored the surface of the block with two Tombow markers, #443/ocean and #126/grass. I just scribbled on the block in different areas with each color until the block surface was all colored in. I then spritzed it with a spray of water until the color beaded up on the block and then stamped it down on the watercolor paper to create that little background square that the crab is stamped on.

Once the background was completely dry, I stamped the crab in memento ink and colored him in with a Copic marker in Lipstick Red. I stamped the sentiment below the crab and wrapped a piece of cherry baker’s cording around two of the corners before attaching it to the card base with 3D foam squares.

You can order all of the supplies I used to make this card through my secure webstore!

clean and simple sunday no. 101…sneak peek!

As a Creative Consultant with A Muse Studio I was able to get my hands on an early view of the brand new A|S annual catalog & idea book—It is WONDERFUL and you are going to LOVE it! It’s due out on July 1st but I’m sure you’re anxious to see it so I thought the next few cards I post will be sneak peeks of some of the stamp sets you have to look forward to…

Today’s clean & simple Sunday card features one of the new sets (of course!) called Shine Bright

This set has some great sentiments plus this fun diamond image that corresponds. I created a base card in wheat with a sentiment panel stamped on mushroom in Versmark ink and then heat embossed in white. I used the diamond embossing powder to heat emboss the diamond image (and make it sparkle!).

Personal Stationery

A cute little card and a great reminder, perfect for a friend going through a hard time or that teenage girl you love.

So remember, a free copy of the catalog will be posted here in the right margin of my blog on July 1st . You are welcome to click on it and save it to your computer for future reference. It’s a 43+ MB file size so it does take a while to load up—give it at least 10 minutes. The cost for a hard copy is $10 and that includes shipping so if you’d like me to send you out a copy after July 1st, just leave me a message in the comments and I’ll get back to you on how we can handle the transaction.

Giveaway Winner!

I’m happy to announce the winner of the Balloon Stamp from the DIY Party giveaway is …. DOREEN S.
Many thanks to all who posted comments and congratulations, Doreen! 🙂

Until next time…

Featured Stamp Set: Silver Lining (A Muse|Studio)

Silver Lining stamp set_edited-2

Silver Lining was one of the first stamp sets to catch my eye in the 2013 A Muse|Studio Catalog. I love the simplicity of the images and the way you can combine the little typewriter font sentiments with the clouds, rainbow and rain in different ways…

Silver Linings rainbow card

Clean and Simple cards are a easy to whip up with this cute set of stamps!

A Muse Studio Silver Linings rain
