A|S Spring Patterned Paper – Card #1

Today, I thought I would start to share a series of cards I made recently that feature the new Spring patterned paper packet from A Muse Studio.  (You can find this little gem in the Spring Accessories Guide and order through my web store HERE.) I’ve been having a lot of fun with these papers and wanted to give you some  ideas for incorporating them into your handmade card projects.

The patterns in this paper packet are a bit different for A|S —many incorporate several colors in each pattern. This feature offers increased versatility because you can create cards pulling your color scheme out of the pattern and create lots of different color combinations.

For the card I’m sharing today, I chose a base card of lichen card stock, a panel of sugar and sewn to the sugar panel with my sewing machine and some white thread is a little paper banner made out of a few of the patterns from the new A|S Spring patterned paper packet.

I have been wanting to try sewing on card stock for a long time and finally took the opportunity to do so when I was putting this card together. I used a bit of Tombow tape adhesive to hold the banner pieces in place while I ran the sugar panel through my sewing machine. It was much easier than I expected, didn’t even need to adjust the tension! I was very surprised…

The sentiment is that cute typewriter font from the Enjoy the Ride stamp set and I embellished with a few silver sequins glued on with some clear glaze to add some shimmer and detail.

I have a few more cards to share this week, showcasing more of those lovely A|S patterned papers so check back if you are not a regular subscriber, or sign up in the right margin for free so you don’t miss a thing!
