clean & simple sunday no. 127

Hello everyone! Back today with a clean, fresh design using the Love & Thanks stamp set and dies…

CCW-No35

The flowers and leaves in this set are so sweet and whimsical! They look amazing in many different color combinations. I chose a base card of SHELL and ink colors of SAGE and BERRY to create this housewarming card. The circle dot image and the Home Sweet Home were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold. I love how the doily adds some extra daintiness to the design.

I’ll be back next Sunday with some holiday designs–both Halloween and Christmas!  Until then…

Holiday Card Series 2013 – Comfort & Joy

Day 9

The card I made for today was created using a masking and sponging technique and features the Let It Snow and the Mini Holiday Messages stamp sets…

HCS_Day9

I started with a white base card with the fold to the left. I created a “mask” with printer paper, just cut it to the same size as my card front, cut a square out of the center with my Spellbinders Square die set and used washi tape to tape it down over the card front. I then took a sponge and dabbed Winter Sky ink all over the inside of the square to get that blue, splotchy background. I then took a snowflake image out of the Let it Snow stamp set and stamped it in Eucalyptus ink all over the sponged area (keeping the mask in place). I then took the smaller snowflake image from the On Dasher stamp set and filled in some of the spaces.

I then carefully removed the masking piece from the front and I was left with the blue square of snowflakes. I stamped that little “comfort & joy” sentiment in the bottom right corner in cherry ink and then wrapped a bit of cherry & white baker’s twine around that front panel of the card to tie in a bit more red. The finishing touch was to add a few “twinkle” stickers in the center of some of the larger snowflakes. Very sweet and simple and again, easy to mass produce!  This would also be really cute as a 4.25 x 4.25″ card.

Holiday Card Series 2013 – Season’s Greetings

Day 7

This cute holiday card is a perfect one to showcase on my normal clean & simple Sunday…

HCS_Day7

For this simple design I chose to use the Sweet Wishes stamp set, brand new this year in the current A Muse|Studio Holiday catalog. I started with a piece of sugar card stock, cut to 7 x 5″ and folded in half to create a 3.5×5″ base card. I added a strip of petite polka dot in cherry to the very bottom of the card and then did my stamping in Memento black ink since I knew I’d be coloring with my Copic markers. If I’d decided to, I could have continued the string of lights across the card front using my Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioning tool to line up the image perfectly.

I picked a few Copic markers and colored in the light bulbs and then added a bit of glue with my Quickie Glue Pen and dusted them with glitter.  This adds just the right amount of sparkle! A stamped greeting and a bit of onyx & white baker’s twine finishes off the design.
