clean and simple sunday no. 105

This week I cracked open a brand new stamp set that I’ve been excited to try using—Sealed with a Fish!
Such cute, whimsical sea life in this generous stamp set, I knew I had to have it when I looked through the new A Muse Studio catalog for the first time…

This card starts with a base card in bermuda. The stamped panel is actually a piece of our Bristol watercolor paper. Watercolor paper handles watercoloring techniques beautifully because it is made to handle the water involved, and it dries pretty flat.

I took a small, square acrylic block and colored the surface of the block with two Tombow markers, #443/ocean and #126/grass. I just scribbled on the block in different areas with each color until the block surface was all colored in. I then spritzed it with a spray of water until the color beaded up on the block and then stamped it down on the watercolor paper to create that little background square that the crab is stamped on.

Once the background was completely dry, I stamped the crab in memento ink and colored him in with a Copic marker in Lipstick Red. I stamped the sentiment below the crab and wrapped a piece of cherry baker’s cording around two of the corners before attaching it to the card base with 3D foam squares.

You can order all of the supplies I used to make this card through my secure webstore!
