Holiday Card Series 2013 – Cherry Reindeer

Day 10

The card for today features the die that coordinates with the On Dasher stamp set. Ironically, we are not using the On Dasher stamp set today, but the reindeer shaped die is a perfect shape and size for the front of this contemporary Christmas card…

This card features a white on white card panel so I started with a base card in white and set it aside. I then cut a white card panel to measure 4×5.25″ and rounded all four corners with my Corner Chomper tool set at the 1/2″ setting. I used two large post-it notes to mask off the right and left sides of the white panel leaving just the middle exposed and then I inked up the Haunted Mansion Background stamp in Seattle ink and stamped that beautiful background image in the middle space of my card panel, proving yet again, that this background stamp is great for way more than just Halloween cards!

The sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings Inside & Out stamp set. I stamped this sentiment in Versamark ink on a strip of Seattle card stock and used white embossing powder and my heat tool to heat emboss the sentiment.  I added this strip directly to the card panel with adhesive. I then wrapped the panel with cherry & white baker’s twine. Finally, I added that Dasher die to the front of the card with foam adhesive to pop it off the front and then attached this entire panel to that white base card I created earlier. I love the striking, modern look of the grey and red color combination…unexpected but still very festive!  I hope you are inspired :).
