clean and simple sunday no. 66

One of the easiest ways I find to create a clean and simple design is by using geometric shapes in a pattern. For today’s design, I chose a 1-1/8″ circle punch and headed to my scrap bin…

For this card I started with a blush card base and punched out 6 circles of scrap card stock in different patterns and colors. I used the Love is in the Air stamp set and stamped the little circle from the postage onto the vanilla circle piece. {I just inked up the image in cherry ink and then with my finger, wiped the ink off of the cancellation portion of the image so I wouldn’t get the wavy lines}. The embellishment is just a bit of ribbon tied to a small, common paper clip and clipped to the latte panel before attaching to the card base.

I like how the polka dots repeat in the card stock and ribbon, the rounding of all the sharp points to mimic the softness of the circles and the way the repeat of the cherry color brings the whole thing together. Try digging through your scrap bin for inspiration this week! The design concept for this card works great in any theme.
