clean & simple sunday no. 65

The focus of clean & simple this month is Valentine cards and the card today was created using a few of the different die shapes offered by A Muse|Studio…

This cute Valentine would be great for parents, children, grandchildren, friends or your own true love. I enjoy pairing pinks and reds with dark brown as the neutral on Valentines…it makes me think of love & chocolate!

The squares and scallop squares die sets are a new favorite of mine and they work really well together. A Muse|Studio offers a large variety of Spellbinders Nestabilities die sets that of course work great with the Spellbinders die cut machine as well as with the Sizzix Big Shot, which is the system I own. A|S also offers many custom die sets, including the Heart Trio. Pictured on this card is the largest of the three hearts, which measures 1.5″ across at its widest point. I chose a set of squares that would layer together nicely and accommodate the heart. I used a strip of petite polka dot cherry card stock as a tab and a french roast button threaded with french roast baker’s twine to add an embellishment with a bit of detail. The heart was layered onto the scalloped square using foam squares.

The die sets offered by A Muse|Studio are of the highest quality. They make cutting interesting shapes, easy as pie…since a couple of my favorites are on the retirement list (snowflake trio {SOLD OUT} & cloud duo) I’m hoping to see some new shapes in the brand new catalog due out March 1st. If you enjoy paper-crafting/card-making and do not currently have a die cutting system, I recommend adding it to your wish list for this year… it will open up all sorts of creative possibilities! Check e-bay or amazon.com for deals, I’ve seen the Sizzix Big Shot offered for as little as $60 at times. It’s worth every penny.
