new year’s eve party ensemble

We get so caught up in using our stamps to make cards I think that sometimes we forget how useful they are for other things, like party ensembles!!

I put together this party invitation, place card and party favor tag using the A Muse|Studio Perfectly Polished stamp set. I went to my computer, opened up MS Word and typed out the invitation text, the “Celebrate the New Year” and the “Thank You” on one sheet of white card stock. I then used my Labels 8 Nestabilities die set to cut out the scrolly label shapes and some snowflakes using the smallest of the A|S snowflake dies. I chose onyx, sugar and sky as my color scheme. I attached the snowflake shapes with a bit of onyx & white baker’s twine to jazz everything up a bit and add some continuity to the design.

Here is a closer look at each element…

This is a simple invitation and very easy to create in MS Word. I created a text box (insert/text box) and then selected right justify from the tool bar. I trimmed the invitation to 3.75 x 5″. I then layered it up with sky (4 x 5.25″) and onyx & white damask (4.25 x 5.5″) so it will fit into a standard A2-size envelope. “Please Join Us” is one of the sentiment stamps that comes with the set, along with three different sizes of the knife/fork/spoon image.

This piece makes a great place card or just a place setting embellishment to provide a decoration for the table that goes along with the invitation theme.

This final part of the ensemble is a Thank You tag that could be used to embellish a small party favor, perhaps in this case a small bag with some Hersey Kisses in silver foil to help “kiss” in the new year.

Incidentally, the Vicente’s will not be having a New Year’s Eve bash, we like a nice, quiet New Year’s Eve with movie marathons, delicious snacks and cuddling on the couch to watch that ball drop in Time’s Square if we can manage to stay awake.  I just wanted to show you how easy it is to use your stamps to create a festive ensemble for any party. This Perfectly Polished set is especially cute for dinner parties, but A|S offers stamp sets for all themes of cards which means great themes for parties too, and even showers, both bridal and baby! Something else to consider when making a stamp purchase, the versatility of the set…

I hope 2013 gives you lots of reasons to celebrate!
