color challenge wednesday no. 29 + special announcements!

I had some time over the last few days to pull out some stamps and have a little creative time in my studio. It feels like forever since I sat at my work table and made something worth sharing with all of you. I have been very inspired by the gorgeous fall foliage and I think that this card I made was heavily influenced by the beautiful leaves I’ve been enjoying all week…

The colors for this week’s challenge are gold, green and orange. If you are using A|S colors, lido, wasabi and pumpkin are the colors featured in this stamp art, along with french roast.

I used a self-made stencil to create the colored squares. To make the stencil, I took a scrap of card stock and a square punch measuring 1-1/4″ and I punched three squares in a row. By some miracle they lined up pretty evenly side to side. To line them up horizontally, I inserted the card stock into my punch as far as I could each time so that the tops and bottoms of the squares lined up.  I took this stencil and placed it across the front of my vanilla panel and used sponge daubers to dab ink into the spaces created with the stencil. A sponge would have worked as well, but I like texture created by the daubers. I used a different dauber for each color and just filled in each square by dabbing on the ink. Once each square was inked up, I lifted the stencil and the colored squares looked great!  I used the dark brown (french roast) ink to stamp the leaves out of the Fresh Foliage stamp set onto each square. I also used dark brown ink for the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment.

I don’t often use the largest scallop out of my scallop trio die set, but I think it adds a whimsical touch to this card, along with the finishing touch of the stitched ribbon.

I hope you have some time to stamp this week and that this card inspires you to use fall colors in your projects!

In addition to the color challenge today, I have a couple of very exciting A Muse|Studio announcements to share!

A|S is going to be offering a special “business kit” for any of you interested in starting up an A Muse|Studio business. During the month of November, this kit will be offered at $39.99 and will contain the 4 demonstration sampler stamp sets plus catalogs and all of the business forms you need for your first workshop. In addition, you’ll receive a coupon good for 50% off your first order so you can stock up on any supplies you’d like to have for your first couple of workshops.  It’s a great deal and a great way for you to get started with A|S without breaking the bank!  You could easily earn back that $40 in your first workshop.

If you’ve been considering A|S as a business opportunity, or even a fun way to sell a few products & get them at a discount for yourself—November would be a great month to join A Muse|Studio.  Just contact me at 27checkerberry@gmail.com if you would like more information on this great opportunity!

The second tidbit of news is that this year, A Muse|Studio is going to be using a Valentine catalog to showcase their new line of  Valentine stamp sets! This 12-page catalog will feature new Valentine stamp sets, new paper, new splash and a new die shape (plus beautiful A|S artwork!)—-I know that you won’t want to miss out! The Valentine catalog should be available around December 1st—I can’t wait to share it with all of you!

In the meantime, don’t forget that A|S is still giving away that FREE stamp set in support of breast cancer awareness!  You can click on the link to my shop and order a copy of this great stamp set. Click on SHOP, then click on STAMPS and then on the left side at the top click on STAMP OUT BREAST CANCER and you can order the set right there. All you pay is $3 for shipping! This set will be great for creating cards of support for any type of cancer, as well as for decorating envelopes. The offer is one per customer, but feel free to place an order for a friend or relative, a neighbor or anyone you know who would love to get this surprise in the mail. Order each stamp set separately and plug in the recipient’s address. A lovely gesture; a sweet and thoughtful act of kindness… There’s still time—you have until midnight on October 31st!
