october blog hop!

Welcome to the A Muse|Studio BLOG HOP for October! If you are participating in the hop you should have come from Angela’s Blog, if this is your first stop, you should start at the beginning with Karen’s post and keep going until you arrive back here so you don’t miss any of the great ideas. This month’s theme is Get Well cards, or cards of Support and Encouragement for someone undergoing treatment…

In my design, I started with a base card of shell cardstock. I cut a panel of latte to 3.5″ square. On top of that I layered two sugar and two grapefruit squares. Using my corner-rounder, I rounded the opposite corners of each square and attached them to the latte panel with adhesive. I added a couple of mini daisies and pearl stickers, plus a satin ribbon in bubblegum on a common paperclip. The completed latte panel is mounted to the card base with foam squares. The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments set.
This card was made with someone special in mind, a dear friend I’ve had for over 20 years, recently diagnosed with breast cancer. They caught it early so although she’ll require surgery and radiation the prognosis is very good. I’m feeling very grateful for the good news in an otherwise not so good diagnosis. She has a modern flair and I know she’ll love the design of this card so I’m hoping it will lift her spirits during her recovery…

Well that’s it from me, next on the hop is Barb Limone, I can’t wait to see what she has come up with! Here is the complete list in case a link gets broken along the way:
