a few more reasons to smile…

I have some favorite blogs that I regularly read. Sometimes these bloggers will write something that leads me to some other great website that I never would have found without their nudge, either by including a link to an article or site within the text of their own post or by including links to fun websites along the margins of their blogs. Either way, I have found some real treasures just by checking out these random links.

This week, I’ve been on the internet more than usual. I’ve had to do some research, I’ve wanted to catch up on some reading and while I’ve been on here, I’ve found a few sites that I want to share. These places made me happy this week, they literally put a smile on my face…

  • This first one is the biggest reason I’m smiling this week. I found a cell phone company that, does not require a contract (not one-year, not two-years, not ANY—hooray!), does not charge an “access fee” when you first sign up (like the big cell providers do) and provides JUST the level of plan I was looking for—300 phone minutes to/from any provider & unlimited texting for $25 per month.  The company is called Cricket and you can check it out here. I actually found 3 different carriers that offer no-contract plans but this was my personal favorite. After checking out their website I did notice that they do not do monthly billing, however, they do offer several “fee free” options for keeping your phone active without needing to purchase an activation card and make a phone call.  I just ordered my cricket phone this morning, should have it Monday, can’t wait to see how this goes!!
  • I was reading a newsletter that I received and in the article was an advertisement for Green Polka Dot Box. This name made me very curious so I checked it out and it turns out this is an organic grocery service. They sell certified organic, non-GMO products that you’d find in a grocery store like Whole Foods but at a significant discount!  I’m thrilled!  They have a pretty good variety and even offer a free trial of the service itself so you can test it out.
  • My last little smile came when I opened up the latest post from Jenny at Nourished Kitchen. She provided a simple recipe for homemade, crock pot, chicken soup.  Something about the title… “slowcooker chicken soup to soothe a weary soul” had me hooked… I’m feeling a little weary myself, it’s been a super busy week. I love the look of this recipe and I know I will make this a few times a month as the weather gets cooler and soup becomes a regular on my menu planner each week. So simple and it looks so delicious… I can’t wait to give this one a try.

I hope that these gems I’ve shared brighten your day as much as they did mine this week, or that they lead you to something that invigorates or inspires you!  Enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll be back Sunday with another clean and simple card design…
