clean & simple sunday #47

I’ve been having some fun with the “negative” pieces that result when I cut a die shape using one of the A|S die sets. For this week’s C&SS card, I chose to create a birthday card using the largest star shape in the Star Trio die set. I cut the star out of a 4×5.25″ piece of sugar card stock…

I then added this panel to a card base of orange petite polka dot card stock using foam squares to pop it off the base and add dimension, stamped the sentiment from Birthday Greetings in orange ink and then added an ocean 1/4″ stitched grosgrain ribbon to embellish.

Many of the A|S shaped dies would look great on this card—for any occasion, not just birthday. A|S offers swallows, hearts, butterflies, flowers and a candy box die set with a variety of great holiday images!  Try whichever dies you have on hand and see the great results of using the “negative” from your die cut image.  Enjoy this idea…and the rest of your weekend!
