clean & simple sunday #20

The holiday season is finally upon us so I wanted to share a couple of additional Christmas card ideas, but please feel free to adapt these card designs into whichever winter holiday you celebrate!  In these two examples I used a sky, cranberry and sage color palette. I used images and sentiments from the A Muse|Studio Holiday Tags stamp set…

The mitten card is such a sweet and simple design and can be adapted for any occasion!  You could change the color scheme and use any small image to repeat in the 1″ blocks—leaves for Thanksgiving, party hats or balloons for birthday, a little teddy bear or pacifier for welcome baby, flowers for a get well…I could go on and on but you get the idea!  A great little design to stash away when “stampers block” hits.

The little tree tag card is one of my favorite design styles and I use it often in my own card-making. In this example I stamped the tree in Memento ink, colored it with my YG23 Copic marker and trimmed it out with my scissors. Whenever I trim out an image I’ve stamped I try to stay to the outside of the image outline. I attached it to the panel with a couple of small foam squares. For the little ribbon tab, I folded the ribbon in half and put a glue dot on the back of the panel to get the ribbon to stick good. I glued the button to the front of the panel to embellish and finish off the design.

I hope the extra card ideas the last few weeks have helped to get you in the spirit of holiday card-making!  I will be sharing some ideas for quick and easy holiday tags later in the week so stay-tuned…  and have a happy and creative week!
