clean & simple sunday #18

As avid stampers, we are WELL into the holiday card preparation season, which for me is a kick-off to the whole festive season!  For the next several weeks I will be featuring cards that focus on the winter holiday themes. This first card is a very generic holiday card, no matter your faith—just stamp the sentiment that you’d like to express on the inside and it becomes a card for any holiday you choose in this relatively neutral color palette—it would also make a great note card or even a lovely winter birthday card…

I used all A|S products for this design and started with a 5.5×4.25 sugar base card.  I then cut two panels—one in the damask shimmer paper/onyx and one in the eucalyptus card stock and layered them together. I punched a circle out of eucalyptus and used my Snowflake Trio dies to cut out the smallest snowflake in the trio to layer onto that eucalyptus circle. To embellish, I tied a cherry satin ribbon around the layered panel and attached the snowflake circle just below the knot of the ribbon, adding a crystal as the finishing touch.  You could use more blues for Hanukkah, mix in some green for Christmas or even try pinks or purples for a more victorian look. You could also substitute a stamped image on the circle rather than a die cut to really make it your own. Have fun with this simple holiday card design!
