clean & simple sunday #13

Yesterday was World Card Making Day!! How excellent to have a holiday just for card makers!! I wish I could have personally indulged in the celebration of card making a little more than I did, however I was able to eek out one special card, just for clean and simple Sunday….

A very simple design, you could even use scraps from your scrap bin for the panel on the card front. In this example, I used a pale pink base card (A|S Shell) and layered a panel of white and a panel of yellow (A|S Lemon Whip) to the base. I took two flowers out of the A|S Meadow Mix assortment and colored the smaller one yellow using my Y17 Copic marker. Since the flowers are made of paper, they color up nicely with these markers, I just used the broad tip and dragged the color from the center outward toward the points of the petals. I then set it aside to dry while I stamped my sentiment in black Memento ink.  I layered the small flower that I colored, onto the bigger daisy shape flower that I left white and added a pearl in the center, gluing everything together with Glue Dots. The final step is to attach the flower to the base card  (using more Glue Dots), just above the sentiment.

This simple card design could be adapted for any occasion, just change the color-scheme and focal image!  A leaf for an autumn-themed card, a cake for a birthday, a baby image for a shower or new addition… the ideas are endless!  Enjoy a little creativity today!~
