clean and simple sunday #5

I’m really excited about this weeks “simple sunday” design…  I wish that the photo did it justice because its such a sweet card. The colors are super soft and  really compliment the images and style of the card, almost a shabby chic.

Bliss; Stampin' Up!

So for this design I used the “Bliss” stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  This set includes the background image as well as the little butterfly image. I stamped the background design in Sky ink (light blue in any ink brand would work just as well) on a white square of cardstock.  I mounted this square on pink cardstock to create my main design focal point. I then stamped the little butterfly on a scrap of white card stock in Pretty In Pink ink. I took some sharp detail scissors and cut out the butterfly, leaving a tiny white border around the image.  I added three pearls out of a tiny pearl strip to the center of the butterfly and then attached it to the card using some flat foam squares to bump it up a tiny bit off of the card surface.  For the embellishments, I took my scallop scissors and cut a little scallop border out of white to add to the bottom of the main focal point and then I took a small paper clip and tied a little bit of ribbon to one end before adding it to the top of the focal point image.  This simple card design would lend itself to a variety of images, large or small, feminine or masculine…you can always add a sentiment below the main design area, too.
